A large ancient Roman pottery oil lamp with concentric bands around the discus and a loop handle.

Ca. 1st - 3rd century AD.

Length: 6 1/4 in. (16 cm).

A full lamp of this type would provide light for several hours.Loeschcke type VII.

Formerly in a Trier, Germany private collection, found at Regensburg, Germany in 1958.
