Roman Bronze Oil Lamp

An ancient Roman bronze oil lamp with an integral foot, recessed discus, hinge for the lid (now missing) and suspension loops for chains.

Ca. 2nd century BC - 2nd century AD.
Length: 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm).

A full lamp of this type would burn for four or five hours.
