An ancient Roman lead pair of gladiators on a platform that once had wheels; a Thraex wearing a plumed broad-rimmed helmet, holds a square-shaped shield, and in his right hand holds a curved sword (sica); the Murmillo wears a plumed helmet with a stylized fish (mormylos) on the crest, an arm guard (manica) and carries a gladius and an oblong Gallic shield.
These small lead figures of gladiators were likely children’s toys that could be pushed back and forth mimicking combat.
