Egyptian Faience Cosmetic Cup

An ancient Egyptian blue-green faience cosmetic or offering cup with an inscribed with Hieroglyphs naming the contents of the vessel.

Ptolemaic Period,
Ca. 330-31 BC.
Height: 1 3/4 in. (4 cm).

These cups contained the various sacred perfumed oils and unguents that were used in both daily use and funeral ritual, they often were labeled with the contents.
