An ancient Egyptian blue-green faience offering cup inscribed with Hieroglyphs reading: “Lord of Glorious Appearances, Ramesses (III), Ruler of Heliopolis, (beloved) of Osiris, Lord of Rostau.”
New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty.
Ca. 1186 - 1155 BC.
Height: 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm).
These cups contained the various sacred perfumed oils and unguents that were used in both daily use and funeral ritual, they often were labeled with the contents.
