An ancient Egyptian small alabaster dish with crescent handles and miniature spout.

New Kingdom.
ca. 1570 - 1070 BC.
Width: 2 3/4 in. (7 cm).

Alabaster was prized by the ancient Egyptians for its translucence and decorative veining, qualities which were further emphasized in the carving process.
