Marc Antony

Obv: Bare head right of M. Antony right; small P (engraver’s signature) in hair behind ear.
Rev: M • SILANVS • AVG/Q • PRO • COS in two lines.

Athens mint, Summer of 32 BC.

Born in 83 BC, by age 22, Antony was a cavalry officer under Caesar in his Gallic campaign afterward he was appointed augur then consul. After Caesar’s assassination he formed the 2nd triumvirate with Octavian and Lepidus. He fled with Cleopatra following his defeat at Actium and committed suicide in 30 BC.
