Horseman galloping right, holding palm frond.
The Frugi cognomen, which became hereditary, was first given to L. Calpurnius Piso, consul in 133 BC. His descendant, Lucius Calpurnius Piso Frugi was moneyer in 90 BC. Apollo and the horseman relate to the Ludi Apollinares, games introduced by the Calpurnii.
