Radiate draped bust of Valerian right.
Rev: Apollo discharging his bow.

Upon the death of Gallus, Valerian, was proclaimed Emperor by his troops. He ruled jointly with his son, Gallienus and was known for persecuting the Christians. He was captured by the Persian king, Shapur, while campaigning in the east and was never heard from again.
