A Pre-Columbian Sican gold pendant of a janiform Sican lord of avian form with free hanging pendants, one side with recessed areas that once held stone inlays which are surrounded by beaded borders.
Sican culture, also referred to as Lambayeque culture, succeeded Moche culture on the north coast of Peru. They had a highly developed pottery and metalwork industry. They were conquered by the Inca shortly before the Spanish arrival.
