Roman Canteen with Gladiators

An ancient Roman large terra sigillata canteen, laguncula, decorated in relief on both sides with a scene of a Thraex gladiator dispatching a Murmillo who has lost his shield; surrounding the central image are bordering bands of roping, rosettes, and tongues; two arching handles on the shoulder.

Gaul.
Ca. 2nd - 3rd century AD.
