An ancient Judaean pottery oil lamp with raised geometric and vegetal designs on the surface.

Ca. 4th century AD.

Length: 3 1/5 in. (8 cm).

A full lamp of this type would burn for two or three hours.

Formerly in the collection of Dr. Wallace A. Russell, Tampa, Florida; purchased in Philadelphia in 1977.
