An ancient Egyptian Middle Kingdom diorite statue of a dignitary seated bare chested facing forward with his hands on his thighs; he wears a long kilt and bag wig, the seat with Hieroglyphic inscriptions on the sides naming the individual and his titles.

Middle Kingdom, 11th - 14th Dynasty.
Ca. 2060 - 1640 BC.
Height: 11 5/8 in. (29.5 cm).
Formerly in a New York private collection; acquired at Y. de Cagny auction, Hotel Drouot, Paris, May 21, 1990, lot 70, previously in an old French private collection.
