An ancient Egyptian bronze statuette of the god Nefertum, striding, bare chested, wearing a kilt his arms at his sides; he wears a beard and thick wig fronted with a uraeus; the head hollow to receive a now missing crown.
The god Nefertum, in Egyptian mythology, was associated with perfume and unguents. With Ptah and Sekhmet, Nefertum was part of the Memphite Triad. He was the physical manifestation of the primordial sunlight and the sweet scent of the blue lotus flower. Nefertum was usually depicted as a handsome young man with a crown of blue water-lily flowers.
