Thrace, Mesembria

Silver diobol, 11 mm, 1.11 gm.
Obverse: A crested Corinthian helmet facing.
Reverse: Radiate wheel of four spokes; M-E-T-A within.

Ca. 450-350 BC.

Mesembria was an important trading colony of Megara on the west coast of the Black Sea north of Apollonia Pontika.
