An ancient Roman pottery oil lamp with a looped handle and scroll pattern around the center discus.

Ca. 1st century AD.

Length: 3 1/2 in. (9 cm).

A full lamp of this type would burn for two or three hours.

Formerly in the collection of Dr. Wallace A. Russell, Tampa, Florida; acquired in 1977.
