An ancient Roman marble bust of a young woman probably representing a muse or a goddess, with downward cast gaze, wearing a veil over a floral garland on her head, the base carved for insertion into a draped body.

Ca. 1st century AD.
Height: 6 1/4 in. (16 cm).
Formerly in a Princeton, New Jersey private collection since the 1990's; acquired in Basel, Switzerland in the 1980's.
