Roman Lead Sling Bullet: Pompey the Great

An ancient Roman lead sling bullet of elliptical form, inscribed, “CN MAG,” of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus – Pompey the Great, and was used during the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great and his son, at the battle of Munda in Spain, 45 BC.

The Battle of Munda took place on March 17, 45 BC in the plains of Munda, southern Spain. This was the last battle of Julius Caesar’s civil war against the conservative republicans led by Pompeius Magnus, the son of Pompey the Great.
