Struck after the fire of 64 AD.

Among the atrocious acts ascribed to Nero were: the murder of his mother, stepfather (Claudius), and pregnant wife; the erection of a colossus in his image; and the great fire of Rome. Faced with revolt he fled to Ostia and committed suicide, ending the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
