A large Pre-Columbian Moche bronze tumi.

Peru, north coast.
Ca. 1100 - 1300 AD.
Height: 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm).

The Tumi (ceremonial knife) would have been carried by dynastic rulers of Peru during state ceremonies to represent, in a more precious form, the copper knives used for animal sacrifices.
