An ancient Ionian Greek stemmed phiale with cream and ochre decoration in the center including lotuses, chevrons, and tendrils.

Ionian workshops in the Greek Islands and the cities of of the Eastern Aegean Sea produced a regional style of pottery beginning in the 7th century BC. Specific workshops at Clazomenae, Ephesos, Miletus, Chios and Samos developed a variety of distinctive styles throughout the 6th century BC.
