Egyptian Wood Shrine

An ancient Egyptian wood shrine of architectural form, richly painted in Egyptian blue, red and yellow with cavetto cornice; four panels on the sides, each painted with three registers of Menat and Djed amulets; with vignettes above of the deceased faced with Duamutef and Imsety; Horus with feathers of Maat and lotuses; the deceased faced with Hapi and Qebsenuef; and Osiris at either side of a table of offerings .

Ptolemaic Period.
Ca. 4th - 3rd century BC.
Height: 15 in. (38 cm).
