The composite goddess Isis-Aphrodite combined attributes of both goddesses and was particularly popular in Egypt in the Roman Period. Isis was the wife of Osiris, protector and patron of women, and model of conjugal love. Later regarded as a healer, she became associated with Demeter, Aphrodite (Venus), and Hathor. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty. Isis-Aphrodite often represents marriage and childbirth, as well as rebirth and fecundity.
