An ancient Egyptian blue faience amulet fragment depicting the child god Harpokrates nude, wearing the sidelock of youth, his right hand to his mouth.

Late Period.
Ca. 715 - 30 BC.
Height: 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm).

Harpokrates, the infant son of Isis and Horus was a symbol of youth and fertility. He was essentially a patron deity of childhood, especially popular in the Late Period.
