An ancient Daunian conjoined double vessel, with a central handle and bail handle, the body decorated with parallel bands of geometric patterns, waves, vines and other decorative elements.
The Daunians were native to the Adriatic coast of Italy. Despite the popularity of Greek and later South-Italian colonial Greek figural pottery, Daunian ware continued in its localized production to the end of the 4th century BC. Daunian ware is more rustic compared to black-glazed and red-figure ware with which it is contemporary.
