Rev: Μ-Α Two lyres; between, owl standing right above palm branch.
Octavian, the great-nephew of Julius Caesar, rose to prominence following Caesar’s death. With his defeat of Antony at Actium he emerged victorious. He was declared Augustus in 27 BC, the first Roman Emperor.
