Attic Red-Figure Lekythos

An ancient Attic Greek red-figure lekythos with a woman wearing a himation over her chiton, bending to touch a sprouting tendril, meander pattern and palmettes on the shoulder.

Athens, Attica.
Ca. 470 - 440 BC.
Height: 4 7/8 in. (12.5 cm).

The lekythos was used to hold olive oil in antiquity and was often left as a grave offering.
