holding a bow and spear.
Reverse: Irregular oblong incuse square, with banker’s marks.
Minted by Xerxes (485-465 BC) and later, primarily to pay Greek mercenaries in his campaigns against Greece which included the battles of Thermopylae, Salamis, and Marathon.
